If you are like me, you have a bunch of canned vegetables in your pantry. I am always looking for way to spruce them up and this recipe from Food.com is one of my favorite ways to make green beans. Of course if you have fresh or frozen you can use them as well.
The only things I do different are as follows:
- I drain them and wash them off before heating them up. That gets rid of a lot of the salt and some of the "canned" flavor. When heating them up in the pan, I replace the juices with 1/4 cup of chicken broth. (Of course you don't have to take this step. I am just sharing how I do it.)
- I add two or three Tablespoons of the Parmesan cheese instead of only one.
3. I sprinkle some canned french-fried onions on top. They give an awesome taste and texture and they give me that green bean casserole everyone makes at Thanksgiving vibes.
