1. Microwave or bake your potatoes. This saves so much time as you don't have to peel the taters or cut them up. Just scoop out the flesh of the baked potatoes and proceed with your favorite mashed potatoes recipe.
2. Clean your potatoes in your dishwasher. Put the potatoes in the top rack of your dishwasher and put it on the final rinse cycle. Just be sure you don't add any detergent! That would not be good!
4. When boiling potatoes, it's important to add the potatoes to cold water and allow the water to come to a boil with the potatoes in the water. The potato starch can react as soon as it comes in contact with hot water, which will promote uneven cooking and mealy potatoes.
